A roof can look finished and be sound, or look reasonable and be failing. We only clean roofs, so we have nothing to gain from telling you to replace one.
Signs it is just dirty
Even moss cover, sound tiles, no slipped or cracked units, gutters holding grit rather than tile fragments. A roof like that usually cleans up well and has years left.
This guide sits under our Roof Cleaning work, covering 20-mile radius of Plymouth.
Signs it is failing
Delaminating concrete tiles that crumble at the edge, widespread slipped slates, sagging between rafters, or daylight visible from the loft. Cleaning that roof is money into a roof that needs a roofer.
The middle ground
Plenty of roofs need a clean plus a few localised repairs. We will photograph what we see so you can get a roofer to price the repairs specifically.
Questions we get on this
- Will you tell me not to bother?
- Yes, if that is the honest answer. We would rather lose one job.
- Do you do roof repairs?
- No. We clean, and we photograph anything that needs a roofer.
- Does cleaning shorten a roof's life?
- Aggressive jetting can. A treatment-led clean should not.
