uPVC cladding, fascias and soffits

Owner with green or chalky white plastic trim.

White plastic shows everything. There are three separate issues people call dirty uPVC, and only two of them can be cleaned away.

Green film and black spotting

Both are biological and both come off with the right product and a soft brush. Black spotting takes dwell time; scrubbing it dry just polishes it.

This guide sits under our Gutter Cleaning & Clearing work, covering 20-mile radius of Plymouth.

Chalky oxidation

South-facing uPVC fades and chalks under UV. Cleaning removes the loose chalk and improves it, but the underlying fade is a change in the material, not a layer of dirt.

Doing it with the gutters

Fascias, soffits and gutter exteriors are one continuous surface visually. Cleaning the gutter and leaving the fascia is a false economy - it is all visible from the same spot.

Questions we get on this

Can chalky uPVC be restored?
Restoration products exist but are a decorating job. We will tell you when you have reached that point.
Do you clean the inside of the gutter too?
Yes - clearing inside and washing outside are usually booked together.
Will the brush scratch the plastic?
No. Soft bristle and flowing water only, never abrasive pads.
